David McGaffey, PhD
|
David C. McGaffey is an international consultant (President of InterConsult Global) and Professor of International Relations (emeritus). He is a Fulbright Senior Scholar, and occasionally teaches at Holy Names University, St. Mary’s College of California and UC Berkeley on an adjunct basis. He is also affiliated with UACS (Skopje, Macedonia), and the University of Sierra Leone, where he developed that University’s first MBA program and directed the Institute of Public Administration and Management. Professor McGaffey returned to teaching and consulting when he retired in 1991 from the US Foreign Service, after a twenty-five-year career as a U.S. diplomat, serving in the Philippines, Afghanistan, Iran, and Guyana, among other countries. He is a specialist in negotiations, cultural analysis, organizational behavior, and strategic planning and is the author of numerous books and articles, as well as curricula, simulations, and other publications. He has taught at 12 different Universities on four continents. Professor McGaffey holds a Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University - School of Advanced International Studies. His other graduate and undergraduate study was at Harvard (Kennedy School), MIT (Sloan School), The University of Detroit, and the Foreign Service Institute.

Prof. Robert Hudson, PhD
|
Robert Hudson is University Professor in European History and Cultural Politics at the University of Derby, and Director of the Identity, Conflict and Representation Research Centre, since 2004. He is the former Head of European Studies at Derby, and has been a European Union Jean Monnet Scholar since 1995. A graduate of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, University of London, he held a Yugoslav government scholarship as a Post-Graduate Fellow at the University of Sarajevo. In the 1980s he lectured at Exeter College of Art and Design and the University of Rennes (France). Hudson was a faculty member of the EU Marie-Curie - funded European Doctoral Enhancement Programme (EDEN) in Peace and Conflict Studies (1997 – 2010). Hudson’s research is rooted in the histories and cultural politics of conflicts and post-conflict aftermaths; with a focus on inter-ethnic conflict, the politics of identity formation and the representation of ethnic minorities in Europe. He teaches on European cultural identities and ethnic minorities in Europe at undergraduate and masters’ levels.

Dimitrios E. Akrivoulis is an Assistant Professor of International Relations in the Balkans at the Department of Balkan, Slavic and Oriental Studies, University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki, Greece. He also teaches as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of International Relations, Bilkent University, Ankara, Turkey; he is a Visiting Professor at University American College Skopje, Macedonia; and at the European Inter-University Centre for Human Rights and Democratization, UNESCO Chair/Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece; and the European Centre for Peace and Development, University for Peace (est. UN), Belgrade, Serbia. He has also taught at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK and at other universities. He holds an LLB and an LLM from the Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, and a PhD in International Relations from the University of Kent. He is the Legal Advisor of the Research Committee of the University of Western Macedonia, Kozani, Greece. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Hellenic Society of International Law and International Relations, and an active member of the Political Studies Association, the British International Studies Association, the International Studies Association, and the European Consortium for Political Research. His research interests include international political theory and continental political thought. His work has been published by international publishing houses, such as Macmillan, Palgrave, Routledge, and Peter Lang.

Heinz Bongartz, PhD
|
Heinz Bongartz obtained a PhD in Sociology from the University of Bielefeld, Germany. He worked in various development projects in India, Indonesia, Nepal, Philippines, Uruguay and Macedonia. He has also been teaching the sociology of development at Universities in Germany, Nepal, Philippines and Macedonia and has published various books on the issues of development in the underdeveloped countries of Asia. Being on the staff of the German Foundation “Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung” for the last 25 years, he currently serves as the resident representative of the foundation in Kenya.
